Diana is qualified to the highest level in Suzuki Method with a Diploma from the European Suzuki Association and takes an active role in training other Suzuki teachers, she both teaches and performs at various International Summer schools. She has 20 years teaching experience and has diplomas from both the Royal School of Music and the London College. She has a large teaching practice in both Bristol and North Somerset.

Michelle is a seasoned performer and qualified teacher, demonstrating innate talent and musical intelligence, enhanced by an appreciation of musical aesthetics (Nicholas Vallis-Davies, ex LSO Principal Flute).

Michelle studied Music at Bath Spa University College where she specialised in performance and graduated with an Honours degree. Michelle has over ten years teaching experience and her teaching practice is based in North Bristol.

Alongside her large teaching practice Michelle is currently principal flautist for Brunel Sinfonia and Bristol Classical Players orchestras, founder member of the Topaz Flute & Harp Duo and a regular guest soloist with the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Male Voice Choir.

Gill Gordon studied piano and singing at the Guildhall School of Music - piano with Bridgette Wild, Claudio Arrau’s teaching representative in London. She taught piano in London and Portishead for 17 years before moving into business for several years as her children were growing up. She has been training to teach in this way for the last 3˝ years and is about to take the level 4 teaching qualification.

Gill is also involved in the development of Suzuki method for Brass, having been invited to join a project for this by the director of the European Suzuki Association.

Lavinia studied music at Bristol University and then continued piano studies to Diploma Level with Ronald Lees. After a brief spell teaching music in schools she started piano teaching from home while bringing up her family of three children. Her first encounter with the Suzuki method was through her 3-year old daughter’s violin teacher. She was intrigued to discover that the same idea could work for piano and started to train as a Suzuki teacher in 1983. Having completed the 5 levels of graduation in this country she spent three months in Japan in 1990 working with Haruko Kataoka and observing Shinichi Suzuki’s own teaching. She has around 30 pupils and is an assistant teacher trainer for the British Suzuki Institute.

Kay Silverman has a background in singing having studied in Edinburgh and Bath and taught choral singing at the Bristol Steiner School. As a Suzuki parent she was inspired by the Suzuki method for the piano and became an Accredited Suzuki Teacher in 1989.

Anna Sibley

MA graduate of the K. Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland, specialising in piano solo performance and chamber ensembles. She has performed in Italy, USA and Germany and participated in masterclasses with A Jasinski, M. Papadopulos, B. Roberts, J. Stompel. Anna has taken part in many competitions, winning the first prize at the International Competition for 20th Century Music in Wroclaw, Poland. She has recorded for the Polish and Austrian radio and participated in the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival in the Summer 2004. For the last 3 years Anna performed at concerts organised by University of Bristol and also cooperates with University of Bristol as an accompanist.

Anna is the founder and the Head Tutor at the Bristol Music School. She lives in Bristol with her husband Mat and son Alexander.

Experience: Taught for Suzuki Association of the Americas in Canada from 98-04, Teaching for Bristol Suzuki Group in Bath since 2004. Started violin at age 3 with Suzuki method. Professional violist/violinist, session/freelance work. Founder and manager of the Stringbeans String Quartet.
